The Walls Are Yellow and The Door Is White

This was another crazy week with so much going on. Production for my new album, Slapbet EP, is ramping up as I just finished up the 3rd song. I only have two more to go, so it’s crazy to see how the album is already nearing the end of the first draft stage. I did a mini Instagram preview of my track, which is turning out to be a blend of Soundscapes, Trap, and Electro House:

In addition to the production I’ve also figured out the direction of my book on The Light Nearby. After some thought, I’ve decided not to publish it, as I’d rather release it as a free eBook where you can read about my story in-depth. I’m still working with my editor to fix everything up, and the entire eBook should be released within the next couple weeks!

The adventures of my week really began on Wednesday when I went to see Love and Light. They’ve been huge inspirations of mine ever since I started producing years ago, and their music is a dope combination of heavy glitch hop with funky beats. Before they even began, however, I had an interesting interaction.

Someone stopped me at the venue and asked me if I was Marc Freccero. I said yes, and thought that maybe they saw my videos when I was traveling or knew me from the Boston EDM scene. Now backing up a bit, before I was into EDM, I wanted to be a dating coach, as I used to work for Mystery from the book The Game. I started a group in Boston where I helped guys and girls with dating and attraction advice, and it turns out that this guy was in it. He kept thanking me and saying how that group changed his life and he’s now a lot more confident in himself and completely took charge of his life. That was the last thing I expected him to say, as I completely forgot about that group, but it was awesome to see it did make a difference.

After that interaction, I prepared for Love and Light. They absolutely killed it that night, dropping tons of unreleased tracks that were absolutely insane. I took a mini video of their performance, so dope:

The Thursday that followed was a pretty event filled day, as I did modeling for the shoe company Vogas Barcelona. They’re a European shoe company that has some really cool looking shoes as they’re hand made and really high quality. For the concept of the shoot/look, they had me dressing wicked Italian – here’s one picture when I was getting ready, trying on an Italian hat:

After modeling I came back to my house and wrote the most popular post I’ve written yet: How I Became Successful. It was a really honest post that described how I figured out what I wanted to do with my life, which wasn’t easy, and also explained how I structured my success. It was a very honest and no-BS type post, where I was really direct about the excuses I’ve seen a lot of people make when trying to be successful. If you haven’t read it yet, check it out, as it’s one of my favorite posts that I’ve written yet.

The next day I was unsure of what to do that night and I happened to start talking to Antiserum who was performing that night in Boston. He threw me on his Guest List and so I went to Prime and raged while he performed. It’s crazy how so many coincidences can happen in one night, as I saw numerous people that I hadn’t seen in years. Antiserum absolutely murdered it, as it was one of the best trap/heavy bass hip hop sets I’ve ever seen. Here’s a mini video I took of him dropping this crazy track:

After an insane night raging I woke up the next day and met up with a few friends who I hadn’t seen in a while. One of them was Eneida, who was actually the person who said “Mueve El Culo” in my Miami track. We went to this pizza place called Renzo’s, which – no joke – has the best pizza I’ve ever had in America. If you’re ever in Revere beach you have to try it.

Later that night I went out with friends and it was a pretty chill night. We played Super Smash Bros (the original on Nintendo 64) and then went out to a local bar. Afterwards we went to a Chinese/Mexican restaurant (the one that I brought people to while driving for Lyft) and I got a General Tso’s Burrito. As you can imagine, it was mind blowing, and a perfect way to end the weekend:
