Suit Up

The First Month in LA

21 Interesting Differences between LA and Boston, but it’s insane how much is always going on here.

To start off my explorations, I was able to go inside FOX studios and check out the scenery – it was interesting seeing an entire community enclosed within guarded walls:

The next day (or it could have been a couple days after…can’t remember haha), I happened to release my first single since I’ve been here. I called it Lionel Messi, simply because I constantly get mistaken for Messi – you can listen to it below:

While we’re on the music subject, I’ve been producing like crazy and planning a lot of releases. Last week I released my newest EP, Dubra EP. This album features 3 tracks that range from House, to Trap, to Moombahton. You can listen to it below, and like my other releases, it’s completely free for download!

In addition to producing music like crazy, I’ve been working out like crazy as I’ve been getting closer and closer to getting a planche pushup (one of my huge fitness goals). I’ve been working hard for a few months now, and my control is getting a lot better:

Although that video was filmed inside of a gym (LA Fitness), I have the absolute best spot to workout during the day. I live in a gated complex with an awesome pool area, so almost every single day I get to workout outside. This is the area where I usually do my workouts, and it’s absolutely perfect:

Like I said in the beginning of this post, it’s amazing how many events there are in LA. Since I’ve gotten here, in addition to Music Production and Fitness, I’ve been attending tons of events of so many different kinds.

I went to IMSTA LA, which is a Music Technology and Software festival – I got to meet two of my idols, Morgan Page (DJ and Music Producer) and Steve Duda (creator of Serum and Xfer Records):

Later on that week I also got casted to be in a Buzzfeed video. At the time of this post, the video hasn’t been released – so I can’t talk about it, but it was wicked fun to do. Here was a mini-video I did of the setup inside Buzzfeed Studios:

That weekend I decided to head to Vegas, as I got guestlisted for the newest club there – Omnia. I’ve heard crazy stories about Omnia, as the inside of the club literally looks like a spaceship along with rotating rings in the middle and crazy mirrors that reflect all the lasers and lights.

Before I went inside, I happened to be on Tinder, and matched with a fake/joke profile called “Spoon.” This is probably the best pick-up line I’ve ever come up with:

…they didn’t respond haha. Nonetheless, Omnia was absolutely insane, and it completely lived up to all the hype:

The very next week, after an already crazy couple weeks, I got invited to the Red Nose event at NBC. It was my first big event, and I had to Suit Up! properly for the event (the main picture of this post is my outfit for the event). It was awesome seeing how everything was run in the backend, and I got to even chill next to huge celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Craig Ferguson, and more.

It was an insane night, and the very next day I had to prepare for Create LA for Fedde Le Grand. Create is known as one of the biggest and most iconic clubs in LA, and you could feel the energy and the vibes inside. Definitely one of the best vibing clubs I’ve ever been to in the country:

The rest of that weekend I took pretty easy and did some work, simply because I had a bunch of events coming up. When people ask me what my day is usually like, it completely varies, but it usually consists of: Making Music, Working Out, and Filming Videos.

A couple days ago I finally reached a huge milestone that I’ve been working towards for 2+ years now: I made over $1,000 in completely passive income online. I decided to do a blog post and video describing my 11 steps to making over $1K a month online, just because there’s so much BS on the internet about how to make money.

Since I’ve been hitting those milestones, I’ve literally been filming, editing, uploading, and meta-tagging 5 videos a day – it’s a lot of work haha. I currently have 4 different YouTube channels, but the biggest one I’ve been putting a lot of work into is Hacks of All Trades – a channel dedicated to making your life easier in tons of different ways. Check it out if you want tips and tricks for every area such as fitness, blogging, SEO, music production, nutrition, and more!

One of my recent videos was me explaining the Murph Workout, which I happened to do on Memorial Day. The Monday after that crazy weekend I mentioned above was Memorial Day, and since two of my roommates are veterans, they really wanted to do the Murph.

I’d never heard of it, but it was brutal. Hands down the hardest workout I’ve done in years – and the best part, is that it’s completely simple. It’s a mile run, followed by 100 pullups, 200 pushups, and 300 squats – followed by another mile run. I literally almost passed out while doing it, and my friend filmed me as I crossed the finish line on the last mile:

Yea that was horrible haha, but I might start doing the Murph more as it truly is an incredible workout.

I got a ton of rest that week, as the Friday after Memorial Day my brother came up to visit me. We went to Santa Monica and Venice Beach, and then we grabbed beers at a local bar:

Later that night we happened to rage in West Hollywood, but it was a pretty chill night as we were attending a festival the next day. It was called Blaze N Glory, and it was a mix of Reggae and Hip Hop. The festival was insane, as we got All Access passes, so we got free drinks, food, and entry to anywhere we wanted to.

The two last performers were Nas and GRiZ, and it was incredible to be on stage with both of those legends. Here was a brief video I took while on stage with them:

The next day we went to San Diego to visit our friend Devon, and grabbed drinks while walking along the strip.

It was an action packed weekend, and this whole month has been crazy. In addition to everything I mentioned, I also recently became and ambassador of Ground Based Nutrition – they make organic plant protein with superfood in it. It’s incredibly good for you, so I got to help them promote it – and I decided to do a Baby Freeze on the water bottle they sent me:

Along with Ground Based Nutrition, I got a nice care package from Arctic Zero. They’re a healthy ice cream brand, as each pint of ice cream is only 100-200 calories – and it has protein, fiber, and everything else your body needs. It was awesome seeing this at my door:

So overall, LA has been incredible to say the least, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made to move out here. There’s a tremendous amount I have planned for the future, so to give you some insight, I’ll leave this last picture here as a preview…
