When I initially made the decision to leave my 9-5 job and pursue my dreams it was tough to find anyone to relate to. As a result, I decided to watch numerous inspirational videos, many of which I still watch today. I constantly get sent motivational content to check out, and out of all of them, these are the ones that really hit home with me. Enjoy!
1. Gary Vaynerchuk – USC Entrepreneur Talk 2015
Gary is the man and he has a very raw and direct approach to Entrepreneurship. I love this presentation a lot because he’s very strait forward about his viewpoints and he explains how his direct experience and work ethic has made him who he is today. There is a decent amount of profanity in this video but it truly adds to his style and shows why a strong work ethic can make you climb to the top.
2. Eric Thomas – As Bad As You Want To Breathe
No motivational list would be complete without Eric Thomas, and when I thought about my favorite speech by him, this one jumped right to the top. This is a very intense video, simply because he explains why it’s frustrating to hear “when you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe then you’ll be successful” from people who don’t hustle. Your actions always speak louder than words, and this video will be a wake up call for some people.
3. Conan O’Brien – 2011 Dartmouth Commencement Address
Switching gears up a bit, I wanted to include Conan’s commencement address at Dartmouth from 2011 because the advice given at the end of his speech is incredible. Overall, he gives a very entertaining and funny speech, but at the end he explains how important failure is and why it’s absolutely crucial for success. Note: Fast Forward to 16:12 for the most important part of the speech
4. Kyle Cease – The Power Of Being Unlimited
Kyle Cease is one of my favorite stand-up comedians and he’s an incredibly motivational person. In this speech, given at Awesomeness Fest, he explains why it’s crucial to get out of your head and take action. He goes through his life, which is incredibly interesting, and explains why just making the decision to pursue his dreams is what has made him so successful. It’s all about living in the moment and pursuing what you love.
5. Les Brown – It’s Not OVER Until You Win!
Last, but certainly not least, Les Brown. Les is an amazing speaker who was told at a young age that he was mentally retarded – he further worked his way up to become one of the top motivational speakers in the world. He explains how he slept on the floors of office buildings, encountered numerous setbacks, and more, but most importantly – he never gave up. This speech is epic.
